People’s Daily Publishes Economic Situation Commentaries for Three Consecutive Days; One Core Judgment Behind Them Deserves Close Attention

From October 12 to 14, People’s Daily published, for three consecutive days, a series of commentaries titled “Correctly Understanding the Stage Characteristics and Long-Term Trends of China’s Economy” in the fifth-page “People’s Commentary” column. The three pieces were written respectively by Li Zheng, a senior commentator with the People’s Daily Commentary Department, and two prominent economists, Wang Yiming, former deputy director of the Development Research Center of the State Council, and Liu Yuanchun, president of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. They analyze China’s economic stage characteristics and long-term trends from different perspectives.
