What is 36Kr?
36Kr is a Chinese technology and business media brand associated with startup, company, and new-economy coverage. An overseas startup publication such as TechCrunch is a useful subject-matter comparison, but not an assertion of identical editorial practices. Readers may arrive to follow financing, product strategy, or an interpretation of a changing industry.
Who is behind a business story?
Check the byline, credited publisher, and whether a company supplied the announcement being described. A founder interview, a funding announcement, and an analyst's interpretation are different sources. A company's statement can establish what it announced, while financial filings or attributable reporting may be needed to verify figures or conditions.
What should you check in a funding or market claim?
Keep currency, financing stage, and timing explicit. Money raised is not the same as revenue, profit, valuation, or cash available today. A reported valuation needs context about when and how it was established. If a headline says a company 'may' take an action, preserve that uncertainty rather than converting it into a completed event.
A business analysis can be informative while containing assumptions. Identify what is directly reported, what comes from a company's own description, and what is the author's forecast. A hot-list rank does not establish investment merit.
How fresh is the recorded listing?
Repeated source items require care. A successful capture tells us the fetch worked; it does not prove the content is newly published. Inspect current ThreadEast source status and the original article date before describing a 36Kr listing as today's startup news. A long-running topic may reflect continued relevance or a freshness problem; rank alone cannot distinguish them.
Can guests read 36Kr?
Public articles are often readable, but visitor and browser checks can interrupt access. Our October 10 requests encountered a security-check page, so this guide does not claim that we inspected current articles behind that check. Follow the original source when available and corroborate a consequential business claim with primary evidence.
What ThreadEast adds
ThreadEast provides English discovery context for a retained source listing and links to the original. A first or last observed time describes our collection, not the event or article publication date. Rank and source metrics remain specific to that list. We do not provide source-platform accounts or full translation of every article, answer, or video.
These introductions use official platform descriptions and public entry points where available. Product comparisons are editorial explanations. Access can change by page, region, and visitor checks; a readable homepage does not guarantee every item is accessible. Consult source status before interpreting missing or repeated observations.
